Sift Heads Reborn is a game for Android, iOS mobile devices or PC. It is a game developed by the original author of Sift Heads World. It is essentially a remastered version of the newer games in the Sift Heads franchise. Currently including Sift Heads World and Sift Heads Street Wars.
Currently, the game has 8 chapters, with each chapter corresponds with the first 7 chapters corresponding with each act in Sift Heads World and the eight one being Street Wars. The Sift Heads Cartels is said to be coming soon.
Plot[]
The story takes from the Sift Heads World series, Street Wars and is soon implementing the Cartels series. Summarised, it is Vinnie and his team, Kiro and Shorty, trying to defeat the Italian Mafia and their allies. Please note that the Sift Head Reborn's plot is a remastered version of the Sift Heads World series's plot recreated specially for mobiles and tablets. Some changes can be found between the 2 series, but mostly everything is the same
(PCC means Player Chosen Character depending if there's any character choices, but usually main player character is always Vinnie).'
Chapter 1: Deadly Newcomer[]
The game started with Kiro talking to Vinnie. All of sudden Shorty calls to meet her at the old port. When they arrived, Shorty told Vinnie that the Red Italian Mafia regroup and planning on taking over Chicago. After taking out the guards in the old port, Alonzo appears and points his gun at Vinnie while saying "You made a mistake coming alone". Vinnie tells him that he is not alone and Kiro appears cuts Alonzo's arm off.
One Week later[]
Vinnie is surprised Alonzo is alive and released from prison. Vinnie goes to the Red Italian Mafia HQ to kill Alonzo, however, he wasn't there. Shorty told Vinnie to find The Black Fox to find some info about Alonzo. Vinnie goes to the bar in search of one of Black Fox's Henchmen. Later, Vinnie received a call from The Black Fox, later telling Vinnie that Alonzo is in Palermo, Italy. Vinnie saved a victim of the cartel named Cosima. Cosima told Vinnie about the cocaine delivery man. Afterward, Vinnie goes to the Vineyard with his buddies. He took all the cash and blew up the vineyard successfully leaving the Vineyard with his gang.
Chapter 2: The Treacherous Return[]
In Chicago, Kiro had been chased by two Yakuzas. Kiro attacked the Yakuzas before he arrived to the safe house. Kiro said that more Yakuzas are coming to the safe house. Kiro and his gang killed all the Yakuzas.
In Tokyo; Vinnie, Kiro and Shorty were staying temporarily in the apart block, because it was unsafe back in their safehouse in Chicago. Kiro said that he will make his apartment their safe house in Tokyo for a while and suggested to kill all informants, to walk more freely in Tokyo and possibly Chicago.
After killing all informants, Kiro thought of a plan to steal a vase that contains ashes from a legendary Samurai Warrior. It would force the Yakuzas to come to them. After mission was successful, Kiro went to the 2nd floor of his apartment. After fight with Yuuma, he escaped and said that it isn't over.
Chapter 3: Alonzo's Reinforcement[]
After "The Treacherous Return" events, Vinnie and his team came back to Chicago. While they were talking, a truck suddenly hit the car and injured the gang. They were thinking that the justice system has been corrupted, decided to go to see the Mayor. After succesfully reaching to Mayor's office without any alerts, the Mayor decided to ask to find the one who took a hand on helping Alonzo. Vinnie went to the Crime Hideout scene, discovering who was the one behind this.
After getting all the evidence needed, the Vinnie wanted to talk to the mayor, arranged him to meet in the Gigi Restaurant, where an ambush happened. After taking one of the henchman to his safehouse, where he told that Alonzo was hiding in a secret passage in the bar.
After finding the secret passage, Vinnie went to chase Alonzo down and took him to the prison in his safehouse after the fight with Alonzo.
Chapter 4: Cold Memories[]
Vinnie with his team went to vacation to Santa Cruz, California. While they were in the hotel, they received a letter to "Maéva". Shorty read it and found out that it was written by her sister; Claire, who asked for Shorty's help.
They went to Russia, with the help of Vinne's old friend, Nico, and old friend of Shorty, named Cherry, to find Claire. The team went to a bar to find Cherry, asked her some questions and went to Nico, to ask for the helicopter, which needed some lost parts. He went to look for necessary parts for helicopter, bring them back to Nico to fix the helicopter. Later, Vinnie and his team took down all of the henchmen around the fortress after arriving. They found Claire, rescued her and seemingly left Russia afterwards by the next day.
Chapter 5: An Exotic Job[]
Vinnie, Shorty and Kiro went to Amazon, Brazil, to transport the artifact to Sanavan - an owner of a Villa. The Mercenaries chase after them to take it. They encounter a mercenaries armed with the rocket launcher and shot the jeep, make them have to jump off the cliff, injuring Shorty while jumping.
Vinnie clears the way to the river to take the boat, Kiro told Vinnie that he lost the artifact. After they take shelter, Vinnie went to found the Mercenaries to take back the artifact. Although he fight with them, some managed to escaped with the Artifact. He decided to set the C4 Bomb under the bridge.
Meanwhile, Kiro and Shorty have been found by the Mercenaries, freeing them, losing the artifact again; going to find it by the blood trail left behind from shooting Mercenaries, he took motocross and followed the train.
After success, Vinnie returned Sanavan the artifact and left to home; Chicago.
Chapter 6: Illicit Association[]
After the team went back to Chicago from Brazil, they found out that safehouse has been destroyed and Alonzo has escaped.
They found a Japanese explosive in a cell room, Kiro to call Black Fox for information, he said that Alonzo had his team rescued him. Black Fox continues saying that the Yakuza have allied with Alonzo and took him out from the cell, while blowing up their safehouse as well.
Vinnie and his team head to a tower in Tokyo, next to the Yakuza tower, to find out why the Yakuza allied with Alonzo's mafia and collect intel. Finding a a computer, finding out that the reason that the Yakura and the Italian Mafia are allies is that the Italian Mafia will allow the Yakura to enter in the American black market if the Yukura help to take down Vinnie and his crew. Going car parking lot, panting 4C Bomb and escaping the place.
The Yakura tower is destroyed and so is the evidence, once Vinnie and his team are safely out of the blast.
Chapter 7: The Ultimatum[]
The game starts in Chicago to Vinnie and his crew while escaping the police. Shorty got hit and Kiro, who decides to take down the pursuer. Vinnie crossed the police roadblock. Kiro, however, was far behind them and didn't make it, prompting him to stop before the drawbridge and surrendered to the police, got himself arrested.
Vinnie carried a bleeding Shorty to his old friend, Darwen's home for help. Although his GT was wrecked, Vinnie found a '69 Dodge Charger nearby. He heard about Kiro's capture and his transportation to Washington D.C. Vinnie went to save Kiro and they headed to the Chicago Italian Mafia Hideout.
Vinnie eliminated the guards until he was hit in the head by Alonzo. Kiro killed Yuuma, but Alonzo shot him and vowed revenge to the one who cut his arm by "blowing off his head." Vinnie fires a rocket at Alonzo. The bounty hunter finished off the villain.
In the end, Vinnie carried Kiro outside, where Kiro asked him for his next move, Vinnie told him that they need a new safehouse.
Chapter 8: Cartels - Prologue[]
The game starts with the new leaders of the Italian Mafia, Luzio and Rino, talking about the events of Sift Heads World Ultimatum. They follow intel from one of Vinnie's informants and attempt to ambush him at a train station. After attacking Vinnie, he escapes on a train drove by Kiro.
Vinnie heads to Darwen's house after a talk with Shorty in Safehouse to get a gun. Vinnie goes to talk his informant about the Italian Mafia. When Vinnie reaches him, the informant is run over by a car and Vinnie is ambushed. He picks up the phone and finds out that the Italian Mafia has a drug farm in Arizona. Vinnie heads there and burns down the place with a fire thrower.
After that, Vinnie called Shorty and talked with her. Shorty's side of the call, a gun's laser sights is aimed at her head.
Gameplay[]
Sift Heads Reborn uses the original gameplay design from Sift Heads World but with some elements from Sift Heads Cartels. Compared to the original, the overall gameplay's difficulty was slightly reduced to integrate with mobile players.
Beside original gameplay, Sift Heads Reborn also introduced Takedown mode, where you hunt all the wanted heads.
Trivia[]
- Before Sift Heads Reborn, there was the first ever Sift Heads mobile app released on April 18, 2012 under the title Sift Heads™. It was currently removed from Google Play and the App Store, making it lost media. The entire gameplay was based on Sift Heads World: Act 7 - The Ultimatum. - There is a weird glitch where if you completed the first mission of chapter six then do a driving lesson side mission, Vinnie's safe house will be turned back to normal. Additionally if you completed Chapter 7, all the 4 vehicles (GT500, Ducati, Mini, and Charger) can be parked inside or outside the safehouse. The safehouse will be destroyed if you leave however.
- This is one of two Sift Heads games where the main character is Boss and Vinnie confronts Luzio and Rino as Boss in chapter 8. The other is Sift Heads 5, where Kiro confronts Vinnie as Boss.
- This is the only Sift Heads game that got removed from the App Store and Google Play due to technical issues.
- There was a glitch in Chapter 5 where the use of Chinese as the language resulted in the inability to purchase explosives (the purchase interface disappeared). No other language has been found to cause it.
- According to SteamDB, Pyrozen originally wanted to release Sift Heads Reborn on Steam in March 23, 2022, but at some point abandoned the idea and turned the store page into Sift Heads Cartels 4.
- The mobile icon was changed from Vinnie holding his Glock to removing it and his arm down, due to the App Store policy, while the Android version stayed intact.
